Uploading Files

Upon logging into ChatGPTFirewall, you'll be directed to the application's dashboard. This quick guide is designed to help you upload files efficiently, enabling you to engage with your data seamlessly.

Step 1: Open the Upload Modal

• Find the sidebar on the left side of the dashboard.

• Click the "Files" button to open a modal. This modal shows a list of previously uploaded files, a button for new uploads, and a currently disabled Nextcloud button, indicating a feature that will be available in the future.

Step 2: Language Consideration for Your Files

• Important: Before proceeding to upload, check the language of your files. We recommend using files in English or German for the best results. Set the site’s language to match your files’ language (English or German) before uploading. This ensures more accurate interactions with your uploaded content.

• You will be able to see the language selected for each file in the list once uploaded. This assists in managing your uploads effectively.

Step 3: Selecting Files to Upload

• Within the modal, click the "Upload" button to bring up your computer's file explorer.

• File Compatibility: Choose standard text files like .txt, .pdf, etc., as these formats are currently supported.

• Selecting Multiple Files: Hold the Ctrl key (Windows) or Command key (macOS) while choosing the files you want to upload.

• After selecting your files, click "Continue" or "Upload" to proceed.

Step 4: Uploading Your Files

• Your selected files will now appear in the explorer with a loading indicator next to each. Do Not Close the Page or Interact With Other Elements until all loading indicators have vanished. Interrupting this process may result in incomplete uploads or errors.

• If an error occurs during the upload, a quick notification (toast) will appear at the top of the screen detailing the issue. You will also get a notification if the upload was successful.

Step 5: File Management

• Within the modal, you have the option to delete any unwanted files. Simply select the files and click "Delete" at the top right of the list.

• This list will also show you when the files were uploaded and their sizes, providing a clear overview of your uploaded documents.

Note on Data Security: While ChatGPTFirewall ensures the security of your data during the upload, using a secure network for uploading sensitive or private information is recommended as an additional precaution.

Completion: After the upload process concludes and the loading indicators disappear, you may close the modal. You're all set to proceed with the next step of creating rooms (Manage Rooms)
