Asking Questions

This tutorial covers the process of asking questions in ChatGPTFirewall, from typing in your query to receiving and editing responses.

Step 1: Typing Your Question

  • After uploading your files and selecting them in a room, locate the text area at the bottom of the screen to type in your question.

  • Once your question is ready, hit Enter to submit it to the backend.

Step 2: Receiving Answers

  • After submitting your question, please wait a few seconds to receive responses. You will get three answers extracted from text sections within your files.

  • These responses represent the three most similar text sections to your question, effectively prefiltering the most relevant information from your files, so there's no need to process the entire file content.

  • Each answer comes with a score indicating its similarity to the question. A higher score means more similarity. If the score is very low, it may indicate that your question can't be adequately answered based on the available content.

Step 3: Data Pseudonymization

  • The application automatically detects personal information or sensitive data and pseudonymizes it if the pseudonymization toggle is set to "on."

  • You can switch between pseudonymized and unpseudomized views, but note that data sent to ChatGPT for further processing will exclude unpseudonymized words.

Step 4: Editing Answers

  • If you find content in the answers you prefer not to send to ChatGPT or need further refinement, you can edit the answers by clicking "Edit" on the bottom left of the chat message.

  • After editing, you have the option to save or discard your changes.

Step 5: Submitting to ChatGPT

  • For deeper analysis or a more conversational response, click the "Send to ChatGPT" button on the bottom right of the chat message. This sends the question along with the refined answers to ChatGPT, which will attempt to generate a human-like response.

  • If ChatGPT cannot find an answer within the context of the provided answers, it will indicate the inability to provide an answer.

  • You can continue to ask more questions, but be aware of the limit of 50 requests per account.

Note on Answer Context and Editing Prompts:

  • The application's ability to answer depends on the relevance of the selected text sections. If you require different behavior or more detailed answers, consider adjusting the prompts for ChatGPT as described in the "Change Room Settings" section.
